Cat of the Month: Special Khaleeli Guest

Dedicated to my absent bosom friend, as this kit gives human eye make up expertise a run for its money

It’s not time for Cat of the Month, Nablus: November yet but it is time to cheer myself up with a picture of a bussa. This cutie is a stray whose West Bank garden backs onto settlers in H1 (you can see some rubbish they have chucked). She ignores the unofficial boundaries enforced by guns that prevent the residents from picking their olives, lightly skips around razor wire dumped by settlers in the garden path, and gets a lot of love from the teenage boys whose restricted garden she frequents.

Ancient Egyptian statuettes of cats have eyes like this – it looks like a middle eastern strain which still flourishes…very special. Love her – G. XxX
